Vikhe-Patil and Munde have said the oppn will disrupt Assembly proceedings if tainted BJP ministers don’t resign
Mumbai : The opposition is taking an aggressive stance and has warned the government that it won’t let the House carry out its business during the Assembly session starting from Monday if a complete waiver on farm loans is not announced and if tainted ministers don’t resign.
Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil and Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Dhananjay Munde, in a joint press conference here on Sunday, announced that all the opposition parties are united against the government. They also said that the opposition has decided to boycott the customary tea party hosted by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on the eve of the session.
“Fadnavis gave a clean chit to Women and Child Welfare Minister Pankaja Munde, who is under suspicion in the Rs 206-crore procurement scam for anganwadis, and Vinod Tawde, facing scam allegations of Rs 191 crore for the procurement of fire extinguishers in schools. We will not allow both Houses to function until the ministers are sacked,” Vikhe-Patil said.
“Since this government has come to power, 1,576 farmers have committed suicide. Paddy, onion, soybean and milk producers are facing a crisis. There is no FRP for sugarcane and the government has turned a blind eye to their problems,” he said.
