Mumbai : Congress and NCP delegations met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis here on Thursday to demand an action into incidents of building collapse in Thane.
While the Congress delegation under the leadership of Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil has demanded an SIT inquiry into the incidents saying that the corrupt Shiv Sena rule in TMC has led to the sorry state, the NCP delegation demanded that a separate building repairs board be formed for Thane.
Vikhe-Patil, who visited the sites in Thane and Thakurli where buildings have collapsed in past few days, condemned the Shiv Sena rule in the local corporations.
“The government should conduct an SIT probe into all the incidents of building collapse in thane district,” he said and also levelled allegations that the tacit alliance between Shiv Sena Mayor and the builders is the prime reason for the latest building collapse in Thane.
The Congress delegation under the leadership of Vikhe-Patil also said that the cluster development scheme should be applied to the whole MMR region.
The NCP delegation demanded that a separate repairs board be set up for old and dilapidated buildings in Thane, Kalwa, Mumbra, Kalyan, Dombivali and the old buildings should be immediately given permissions for redevelopment with an additional FSI. The delegation was led by Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Dhananjay Munde.
