Bhayandar : Citizens who have bought or sold properties will now get the copies of registered documents via e-mail. The state inspector general of registration and controller of stamp, IGR-Pune, has issued standing instructions in this context to the offices of all sub-registrars in its jurisdiction on July 8.
To bring more efficiency, transparency and effectiveness in registration process, the IGR has initiated computerisation of registration project called i-Sarita which was commissioned on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) structure. Under the project, original documents are returned with thumbnail printout after registration and CDs containing scanned image of registered documents. However, the CDs were provided to only one party. As per IGR directives, since the BOT tenure ended on July 8, 2015 (for Pune division on July 12), the i-Sarita project will now be handled by the department itself. Henceforth, officials will note down e-mail addresses of all concerned members participating in the registration process who will then be send soft copes of the scanned documents via IGR’s central server.
