No city student in first seven toppers

Mumbai : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared results of XII examinations which took place from March 2, 2015 to April 2015 on Monday. Not a single student from the city or state was in the list of first top seven students who shared the first three ranks across the country. M Gayatri, student of New Green Field New Delhi is a national topper with 99.20 per cent scoring 496 marks out of total 500 marks.

This year, a total 10,40,368 students had appeared for XII examination in CBSE board across the nation. This year, over all board’s passing percentage is low as compared to that of last year. This year, the board’s over all passing is 82 per cent against that last year it was 82.70 per cent.

As usual, girls performed better than boys this year too. According to the statistic provided by the board, girls’ passing percentage was 87.56 per cent and boys passing percentage was just 77.77 per cent. Over all, pass percentage of Triruvanthampuram region is 95 per cent which is highest as compare to any other region in the country.

As a part of policy, the board did not declare the merit list of students this year, except first three top rankers.

M Gayatri student of New Green Field School, Saket, New Delhi is a national topper with 99.20 per cent scoring 496 marks out of total 500 marks. Three students, Mythali Mishra student of Amity International School GB Nagar, UP; B Arjun student of Kendriya Vidhyalaya Trivendrum Kerla and Saurabh Bhambri student of KRM World School Greater Kailash New Delhi shared the second rank scoring 99 per cent with 495 marks.

Poornam Kumari student of Happy Evergreen Sr Secondary School, Hariyana; Gurwinder Singh Saini student of Police DAV Public School Jalandhar, Punjab and S Nishok Kumar student of DAV Sr Secondary School, Chennai Tamil Nadu shared the third rank.
