After more than a month of constant rise in new COVID-19 cases, for the first time, less than 100 cases have been reported under the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) jurisdiction. On July 7, the civic body witnessed 95 new cases.
On June 3, a total of 63 new cases were reported and from June 4, more than 100 cases were being reported.
For the last week, the civic body is seeing more patients getting discharged than new active cases of COVID-19 being reported in its jurisdiction. This has led to a sharp drop in the number of active cases. At present, the number of active cases stands at 755. On July 7, a total of 95 new cases and 95 patients got discharged.
Last month, around 7000 new cases of COVID were reported. At the beginning of May, the number of active cases was around 50.
At present, 570 people are in home isolation and only 3 patients are getting treatment at COVID care centre at Cidco Exhibition centre in Vashi.
During June, two deaths were reported taking the total number of deaths 2051 due to coronavirus.
