Bhayandar : NCP corporator in the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation Dhruvkishore Patil contributed his area development funds to build the much needed police chowky near the Foot Over Bridge at Balaji Nagar in Bhayandar (west). Mayor Catlyn Pereira inaugurated the chowky in prominent presence of former MP Sanjeev Naik, Deputy SP Suhas Bawache, Senior PI Bhaskar Pukle and API Pardeshi on July 3.

Following a spate of chain-snatching and other petty offences in the region, Patil mooted a project to construct police chowky from his area development funds.

“Every policeman is a common man in uniform and every citizen is a policeman sans uniform. While both share an equal responsibility, alertness shown by citizens will definitely help police to ensure a crime-free habitation,” said Suhas Bawache. He did not miss the opportunity of inauguration, coinciding with the ‘Friendship Day’, to give out an emotion plea by appealing people to strengthen police-public relation to make every area a safe and secure place.

Mayor Catlin Pereira lauded the efforts of Dhruvkishor Patil in providing the chowky which will ensure better vigilance of the posh residential locality.
