Mumbai : The Mahatma Gandhi Peace Centre of the University of Mumbai has started a new short-term course on ‘Peace Studies’ in the current academic year. The course would be beneficial for people working with NGOs and research foundations in the fields of peace and conflict resolution, discrimination, social work and social science.
The objectives of this course are to help students understand the theoretical dimensions of peace studies and highlight the meaning, need, aim and scope of peace psychology. It will also help them underline the implications of peace studies for the state and society through the use of conflict management and peace-building initiatives.
Officials said that graduates from any discipline are eligible for this new course. Admissions are open till October 31, 2015 and the intake capacity of this course is 40 students. The course fee is Rs 1,000 per student.
