Mumbai: The NCP on Monday welcomed the State government’s decision to appoint chief auditor at the MCGM and demanded that a CAG audit needs to be conducted into the MCGM decisions in past 20 years.

“We welcome the move to appoint chief auditor at the MCGM. But, considering the cases of gross corruption that have been unearthed in the road, nullah cleaning, waste disposal and other contracts, all the decisions in past 20 years need to be handed over to the CAG for detailed audit,” NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik said. Malik also lashed out at the BJP saying that they too helped the Shiv Sena in looting the MCGM.

“They can’t escape now saying that we were never involved in any of the decisions,” he said.
