Mumbai : The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has decided to initiate an agitation against the powers who are trying to glorify Mahatma Gandhi’s killer Nathuram Godse.
“Gandhiji was killed on January 30. We are planning to initiate the agitation against the powers that were behind his murder on the same day. Party workers would organise programs to pay respect to Gandhiji and then resort to silent protest all across the state,” state NCP chief Sunil Tatkare told reporters here on Tuesday.
“The powers that killed Gandhi are now trying to glorify Nathuram Godse and his line of thinking. People have gone to an extent to build Nathram’s statues and temples. We oppose all such forces,” he added.
“We want the government to take concrete steps to curb all such elements who are trying to glorify Godse and his thought,” Tatkase said.
