Navy helps ONGC fix gas leak on unmanned platform

Mumbai : A hydrocarbon gas leak was detected on one of the ONGC unmanned platform in the Bombay High Offshore Development Area on Wednesday early morning. Official said that there was no report of casualty since it was an unmanned platform. With the support of the Navy, the ONGC successfully detected the leak and repaired it.

In order to expeditiously control the potntially hazardous leak, on the request of ONGC, the Navy provided one of its Immediate Support Vessel (ISV) T 28 for fast transportation of the repair team to the leak site. Repair team of two persons along with equipment embarked from HRA Oil Platform and rushed towards the unmanned platform.

The team was successful in repairing the leak and they were extracted from the site by the  Navy.
