On Thursday, a leakage in Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) gas pipeline was reported at Sector 9 in Vashi. The fire brigade reached the spot immediately.

The incident is said to have occurred around 1 pm during road digging work. However, the incident led to traffic chaos in the area.

Meanwhile, Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has issued a statement and said that they have temporarily stopped the gas supply in the area.

"MGL gas pipeline damaged near Vashi Fire Brigade, Sector 16A due to JCB impact during drainage work. As a precautionary measure, the gas supply has been temporarily stopped in the area. The rectification work is in progress and the gas supply is expected to be restored by evening. Inconvenience caused is regretted," read the statement.
