Nashik: A school teacher in Nashik, livid at his girl students for not parting their hair, reportedly caned them, the students and their parents have complained to police. A complaint has been filed against the teacher, Annasaheb Thackeray. The incident occurred in Janata Vidyalaya in Panchak taluka, Nashik.
The state education dept has sought a detailed report on the incident from school authorities. In the name of discipline, Thackeray has been caning students for the past few days. Earlier too, the girls had complained, Thackeray beat them, either for not parting their hair or for not standing in line at prayer.
The girls finally shared their frustration with their parents who registered complaints. They also alleged Thackeray would come to school inebriated. The parents’s complaint to the police served as an eye-opener for the education department.
The education dept officials visited the school and sought a detailed report in the matter at the earliest. The school principal has admitted the girls were beaten with a stick in the name of discipline.
