Bhayandar : An unidentified person flung acid at a 14-year-old girl near her tenement in the Vijay Nagar area of Nallasopara (East) at about 7 pm on Sunday. The girl, a Standard IX student of a private school in Nallasopara, was studying near her house when an unidentified person flung acid at her and fled the spot. The girl was rushed to a nearby hospital, where her condition is said to be stable. 

It was load-shedding period and the girl was studying under a power-charged night lamp; the assailant took advantage of the darkness to carry out the attack and flee the spot.
A case under Sections 336 and 436 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against unidentified accused. API Dhananjay Jagdale is investigating the case.
Fraudsters dupe teenager of Rs 1 lakh
Two unidentified men duped a 16-year-old teenager to the tune of Rs 1 lakh inside a bank in Nallasopara on Monday afternoon.
According to the police, Manzoor Aziz (16) had gone to deposit Rs 1 lakh cash and a cheque amounting Rs 11,000 at the Nallasopara (East) branch of Ratnakar Bank. As Manzoor was filling the deposit slip, the duo approached him and told that they too wanted to deposit money in their account but did not know how to fill the slip.
Under the pretext of seeking his help, the duo diverted Manzoor’s attention and fled with the cash.
