Mumbai: The Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai crime branch arrested a 38-year-old woman with heroin worth ₹34.5 lakh on Monday. The woman is identified as Aister Muttuswami Naidu a resident of Pydhonie who was previously arrested in similar offence, said police.
During a routine patroling on Monday afternoon, a team from Worli unit of ANC found a woman moving suspiciously near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. She was taken into custody and during her search 115 grams of heroin was recovered. In international market the value of said quantity of heroin is ₹ 34.5 lakh, said officials.
Following seizure, Naidu was booked under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) act. She was produced before the court on Tuesday which remanded them police custody till June 7.
