Mumbai Weather Update: IMD predicts moderate to heavy rainfall for city today

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday predicted that Mumbai will likely receive moderate to heavy rainfall. The weather bureau forecasted that the maximum temperature in the city on Tuesday will be 30°C, while the minimum temperature will be 25°C.

The IMD Mumbai in its weather forecast has stated that the maximum temperature in Santacruz will be 30.8°C, while the minimum temperature will be 25.6°C. On the other hand, the maximum temperature in Colaba will be 30.5°C, while the minimum temperature will be 25.3°C.

Mumbai will witness cloudy sky with the possibility of moderate rainfall to heavy rainfall today, with a relative humidity of about 89% in Santacruz and 92% in Colaba. The air quality index (AQI) for PM2.5 pollutants – was 40 (Good) on Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, IMD has revised its district rain forecast and issued a yellow alert till Thursday, with the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places on Wednesday in Mumbai, Thane and Palghar.

Mumbai has received 1,085.4mm rainfall from June 1 to July 12 (5.30pm), 47 per cent of its seasonal target. The city’s seasonal average rainfall is 2,317.1mm. The suburbs and south Mumbai recorded 23 per cent and 22 per cent excess rainfall respectively, in the same period.
