Mumbai: Vivek Oberoi couldn’t have given a better wedding gift to acid attack survivor

Vivek Oberoi has always believed in doing his bit for the society and had recently introduced a project called ‘Karrm’ under which people can afford a decent house in the city. And now, the actor stuck to what he believes in. Vivek recently attended the wedding of an acid attack survivor and gifted the couple a new house under his project.

According to the source, “Vivek had met Lalita at a function in March where he got to know about her problems and the fact that she was homeless. The actor had promised her that he will gift her a house in his affordable housing project, Karrm.”

But that’s not all. Vivek who was shooting in Serbia since last month came back to India recently and being a man of his word, he not only attended Lalita’s wedding but also gifted her, her a new house key! Vivek praises Lalitha saying, ‘Lalita is a true hero cz she proves 2 1000s of acid attack survivors nationwide tht this isnt a full stp,jst a comma, lyf hs mny possibilities’.

Vivek, who addressed Lalita as his sister, also wrote: “Amazing love story of my little sister Lalita Bansi, an acid attack survivor, who got married today to an amazing man Ravi Shankar who loves her for who she is.” Interestingly, Lalita Bansi and her husband Ravi Shankar Singh’s romance took off when Lalita mistakenly called Ravi a cable operator in Malad and Ravi instantly took a liking for Lalita’s voice.

Earlier, Vivek had donated 25 flats to Sukma martyrs under his construction project. Lalita, a member of Acid Survivors Saahas Foundation, has been undergoing treatment from 2012. In 2012, she suffered a complete face burn after her cousins threw acid on her over a family dispute. She will continue her treatment post her marriage.
