Mumbai: Vaccine Politics
Clarence Pinto

Despite two BMC circulars barring vaccination centres from putting up posters, hoardings of political parties and political leaders, many vaccination centres in the city continue to be decked up with such hoardings, posters, billboards and even political party flags. A photo taken by FPJ reader on Tuesday evening shows BMC's Anushakti Nagar Covid vaccination centre covered with posters hoardings and flags of Shiv Sena.

The BMC commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal on Monday issued a circular reminding elected public representatives to refrain from using vaccination centres, sub-centres at workplaces and housing societies for publicity of their respective political party. The civic chief has warned that those centres found flouting norms will be issued a show-cause notice and the approval to their centres will be revoked. The first circular to this effect was issued on June 3, 2021.
