Mumbai: The Kandivali police have arrested two men for raping a 14-year-old minor girl by spiking her cold drink with an intoxicant over three days. The accused men had taken her to a farmhouse in Marve area of Malad, where they spent the weekend with her, said police.
After the teenager narrated the series of events to her parents, they approached Kandivali police and registered a First Information Report (FIR) in the matter. Police have booked the two men for rape and sexual assault under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to the police, the teenager and the accused men lived in the same neighbourhood and were on good terms with her. Even as the teenager’s parents were not happy with her association with the two men, the girl continued to meet them. On Saturday, when the teenager did not return home, her parents were worried and enquired with the neighbours.
An hour later, they discovered that their daughter had left the area with the accused men on a motorcycle for a weekend getaway. During their three day stay, the teenager was accompanying the accused duo, aged 19 and 20 years respectively, while she was raped by one of them several times.
Police said, “The teenager was drugged while she was partying with the accused men after they spiked her cold drink with an intoxicant and she lost consciousness. Soon after that, one of the men raped her on multiple occasions and then brought her back to her residence in Kandivali (W) on Monday.
However, before that they asked her to abstain from revealing what happened in Marve or else she would face dire consequences.” When the girl came home on Monday, her parents asked her where had she been. Following constant grilling by her parents, she narrated the whole incident. Her parents then brought her to the police station.
The girl was sent for a medical examination after which her statement was recorded. Both men were booked under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act pertaining to rape and sexual assault. One of the accused men is a history-sheeter and has been booked for theft in the past. The duo will be produced in a local magistrate court on Wednesday.
