Mumbai: Two bikers were crushed under the rear tyre of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus in Dharavi on Saturday. Police identified the arrested ST bus driver as Parshuram Metkar, 38. The bus was heading to Guhagar from Borivali.

The two deceased—Ajay Jaiswal, 28, and Mahesh Sharma, 48—were residents of Antop Hill. They met with the accident in Dharavi while returning from Kurla. Jaiswal was driving the motorcycle while Sharma was riding pillion, said a senior police officer

“The incident took place at 10.30pm on Saturday near Naik Nagar junction, LBS Marg in Dharavi. Jaiswal lost his control of the motorcycle and the two came under the rear tyre of the bus. Both suffered serious head injuries and succumbed later. A case under relevant sections of the IPC for negligence was registered. The ST driver was arrested and was produced in a local court, which released him on bail,” said Suresh Patil, senior inspector, Dharavi police station.
