Six people were injured on Saturday after the bus they were travelling in met with an accident. The incident took place on Mumbai's Eastern Express Highway near Vikhroli.
"This morning, around 10:45 am, bus route number 27 was travelling from Bhandup's Sonapur to the Worli depot," began a statement from BEST following the incident.
The accident took place while the bus was crossing the bridge near Godrej Company and a motorcyclist had come in its way. "Thinking quickly, the bus driver took a right turn to save a motorcyclist," the statement adds. In the process however, the bus collided with the divider, leading to several passengers sustaining injuries.
Visuals shared by the Free Press Journal's Swapnil Mishra show the bus parked at the side of the road in a battered and dented condition. One photo showed an injured person laying on the road as others stood around.
