Thane: People go to cinemas and multiplex for fun, but the Bhiwandi Haseen Multiplex is no more a place for enjoyment. Instead, it’s become a tragedy hotspot.
A 28-year-old man suffered leg fractured after falling from the steps of the multiplex. The incident took place when he was leaving the theatre after watching Luka Chuppi at Haseen multiplex in Nizampura area of Bhiwandi on Monday afternoon. The injured person, Romik Lalit Jain, 28, resides in Gokul Nagar, Bhiwandi. Jain and five of his relatives had gone to watch the 11 am show.
Romik Jain, who deals in cement, said, “While leaving the multiplex with family after the end of the movies at 1.30 pm, I lost my balance and fell down. I could not move a single step. My relatives took me to a private doctor. I fractured my toe finger, and doctors advised me a 20-day bed rest.”
Lalit Jain, father of Romik Jain said, “We rushed to the multiplex manager and complained about the short step, which resulted in my son’s injury. The manager assured us of the immediately action.” Bhushan Kadam, the manager of Haseen multiplex said, “We got four complaints about the short step. We will sent the complaints to the management and will repair and find a solution soon after the approval of the management.”
Vikas Jain, another injured person, who along with the three relatives, was at Haseen cinema a week ago to watch Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga, said it happened to him as well when he entered the hall and climbed the stairs. He had suffered leg injuries.
