Mumbai: Power company, Tata Power, has taken up precautionary measures this monsoon season to ensure uninterrupted power supply and safety of Mumbaikars.

The company has carried out pre-monsoon checks and preventive maintenance of electrical infrastructure; and installed de-watering pumps at all distribution and consumer sub-stations.

Tata Power claimed that emergency maintenance vehicles are equipped to deal with any situation that arises. It stated, “At present, Tata Power’s direct consumers in Mumbai are not facing any power shut down situation due to torrential rain.

However, preventive measures were taken in few sub-stations and societies, where the services have been restored as soon as the situation normalised.”

Tata Power is also working together with all stakeholders concerned for some of its changeover customers (customers connected to Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited wires), who may be facing power supply issues due to water logging, to ensure speedy restoration.

The special arrangements are made at company's 24x7 Call Centre to ensure timely action in emergency situations, stated the company. There are dedicated quick response teams strategically placed at various nodes across Mumbai too.
