Mumbai: BJP party workers installed LED TVs outside the Borivli railway station in the Mumbai North constituency to enable commuters to get latest updates on the Lok Sabha election results.
Commuters and autorickshaw drivers halted at the spots to update themselves on the latests. “We set up the television screens outside the railway station for people at 8am for the benefit of working people, passers-by and autorickshaw drivers
. We have also planned a victory rally once the counting is over,” said Rohit Pabari, chief, Gujarati cell, Borivli. “We know the results, but are still want to keep a track of the counting on TV. It is no less thrilling than a cricket match between India and Pak,” said an auto driver.
A senior citizen said, “In North Mumbai, we don’t need any election, as our candidate Gopal Shetty has worked at the ground-level. Unlike other MPs, who disappear after winning, he is always available to people who go to meet him.” Slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Har Har Modi’ filled the air as the public watched.
