Mumbai: On the occasion of National Fire Service Day, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) paid heartfelt tribute on Monday to the courageous fire officers and personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty while serving in the Mumbai Fire Department.
The event was held at the Mumbai Fire Department Headquarters of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation in Byculla. The ceremony honoured the courage and sacrifice of firefighters who served selflessly to protect lives and property across the city.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) shared a post on X on Monday, stating, "Tributes were paid to the brave fire officers and personnel who lost their lives while serving in the Mumbai Fire Department on the occasion of 'National Fire Service Day.'"
The post also stated the presence of Mr Santosh Warik, Director of the Maharashtra Fire Service, along with several prominent dignitaries, including Dr Amit Saini, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Eastern Suburbs); Mr Prashant Gaikwad, Deputy Commissioner (Finance); and Mr Ravindra Ambulgekar, Chief Fire Officer of the Mumbai Fire Department.

The programme included floral tributes, a moment of silence, and speeches reflecting on the valiant efforts of fire service personnel. Officers and staff from various departments attended the event to pay their respects and reaffirm their commitment to public safety.
National Fire Service Day is observed every year on April 14 across India to honour the memory of those who have fallen in the line of duty and to raise awareness about fire safety and prevention.
BMC Holds 'Fire Safety Awareness Rally' In Byculla
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced the 'Fire Safety Awareness Rally' on Thursday. This rally took place between Byculla Fire Station and Gowalia Fire Station. It was organized as part of 'Fire Service Week' to raise awareness about fire safety and promote the work of the Mumbai Fire Department.
