Mumbai: For the second time in eleven days, there was a derailment of two wheels of the AC coach of the Neral–Matheran toy train on Friday at 10.35 am between Jumma Patti and Water Pipe stations. According to AK Jain, senior public relation officer of Central Railwayl, the passengers were safe and no one was injured. The official said the incident was not a major one, only two wheels of a luggage coach had come off the track partly. He added that services resumed within 30 minutes.
This is the third toy train derailment incident registered this year. The first was in October, three days after services resumed post monsoon when a luggage-cum-brake van coach derailed near Aman Lodge station. Then on December 9, a day after the AC coach service was started, the toy train’s engine derailed near Jumma Patti station.
