The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has seized a consignment containing 2.2 kg worth Rs 1.50 crore of multistrain buds aka cannabis at the Foreign Post Office in Ballard Estate on Tuesday.

The price of these nugget ranges anywhere between Rs 5,000 to Rs 8,000 per gram in the illicit market, officials said. The consignment had arrived from Canada. According to the zonal director of the NCB’s Mumbai unit, Sameer Wankhede, the sleuths had launched an operation at the Foreign Post Office and seized 2.2kilograms of multi-strain buds on Tuesday.

“We had received information about the consignment arriving in Mumbai. Our officials reached the place and seized 2.2 kg of cannabis that was concealed in a blue carton box” said Wankhede. He added, “The parcel had arrived from Canada.We have registered an offence in the matter and are trying to find out the accused.”
