Some commuters in Mumbai had a hard day while travelling today when monorail services were shut for an hour near Wadala depot. A monorail stopped while plying towards Wadala depot after facing a technical snag at around 11 a.m. The train stopped mid-way while reaching the depot.
The commuters of the train were immediately evacuated at Wadala depot. Each passenger was also refunded the ticket amount. After evacuating the passengers, the monorail was being transported to the depot. As the train could not move due to technical problem, another train was used to push the monorail further to reach Wadala depot.
As other trains could not use the same alignment, the services were affected for over an hour. The second phase of the Chembur-Wadala-Jacob Circle monorail was started in March 2019.
