Mumbai: The MMRDA has called interested companies for the construction of a national memorial of late Balasaheb Thackeray at an estimated cost of Rs 87.46 crore at Mayor’s bungalow near Shivaji Park on Monday. The last date for online submission of bids is March 23.
According to the tender, the company has to construct an interpretation centre, visitor’s centre, heritage conservation, restoration of Mayor’s bungalow and conversion into museum, landscaping, beautification of Premises and other work.
The state government in its cabinet meeting on January 22, decided the funds for the memorial would flow from the MMRDA and the state government would ensure its availability. Reportedly Rs 100 crore funds will be made available to the MMRDA, which is controlled by CM Fadnavis.
