Mumbai: Two years after the bhoomipujan was performed, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has begun the online registration of transit agreements at N M Joshi Marg of the redevelopment of Bombay Development Directorate(BDD) chawls.
According to a MHADA official the digital process started on April 10 and so far, 53 families have completed the online agreement. The online registration is being carried out at the sample house on site, from 10 am to 6 pm by an officer, appointed by MHADA. The residents gave them feedback asking the officers to start the process two hours earlier.
“Everyday 10 to 12 families complete the transit agreement process moreover, in a meeting held recently with the society members, we were given the feedback to start the process by 8 am every morning, since many are salaried employees who have to rush to their offices.
We have told them, they have ensure their families will be present to sign the agreements, only then we are prepared to provide the service even 12 hours a day,” said the official. According MHADA, till now, 288 of the 408 eligible residents in the first phase of the seven chawls have agreed to sign on the transit agreement.
Once the online registration for these 288 tenants is completed, the remaining tenants will undergo the same process remarked the official. It is only after the online transit agreements registration process is completed the construction work can begin. MHADA officials believe, the construction work will begin by this Diwali.
