Nagpur: A man has killed the maternal cousin of a girl he was in love with, after the cousin and his mother refused to help him marry the girl. That it was a case of one-sided love was revealed after the murder, in Gadgenagar, Nagpur, on Sunday. The accused, Richesh Sikalwar, was in love with the cousin of Rahul Turkel, 28.
Richesh had continued to pursue Rahul’s cousin, undeterred by the fact that she was married. He reportedly spread rumours about the girl’s character and her in-laws sent her back home. Ever since she returned, he asked Rahul and his mother to extend help to get the girl to marry him. After their refusal, Richesh was looking for revenge.
He conspired to kill Rahul and to carry out his plan, he went to Rahul’s house on Sunday and took him home for his birthday party, got him drunk and killed him in his house, left the body inside, locked the house and escaped. Police have begun investigations and are trying to ascertain if Richesh had any accomplices.
