According to Kurar police officials, the 23-year-old man, whose identity has been concealed for security of the victim, had met the woman and befriended her, following which they met casually. On one such occasion, in January last year, the accused man had forced himself on the woman and established sexual relations, after which he had clicked a few objectionable photographs of the woman.

From January last year until recently, the accused blackmailed the woman by threatening to upload the pictures on social media and established sexual relations with her on several occasions in Kurar, Malad (E) and Navi Mumbai.
