Mumbai sees 1,266 new cases, 36 Covid deaths
There has been a drop in the number of Covid-19 cases across Maharashtra on Friday, with 21,273 new infections and 425 Covid deaths being reported in the last 24 hours, pushing its tally to 56,72,180 with 92,225 fatalities till now. It is the lowest single-day case reported since March this year.
Mumbai has witnessed a slight drop in the number of Covid cases on Monday, with 1,266 new infections and 36 Covid deaths being reported in the last 24 hours, increasing its total count to 7,02,532, with 14,778 fatalities till now. The recovery rate has increased to 94 per cent with 855 being recovered and discharged across the city, taking the total recovery count to 6,57,301.

Maharashtra reports less than 30,000 COVID-19 cases for 8th consecutive day; recovery rate rises to 93.02%
Maharashtra on Thursday witnessed less than 30,000 COVID-19 cases for the eighth consecutive day. The state recorded 21,273 new cases, taking the total number of active cases to 3,01,041. Besides, 425 COVID-19 deaths were reported in the day, taking the number of total fatalities to 92,225.
34,370 patients were discharged in the day, taking the tally to 52,76,203. The recovery rate in the state rose to 93.02%. The case fatality rate in the state is 1.63%.
Currently, 22,18,278 people are in home quarantine and 19,996 people are in institutional quarantine.
Help pours in for inmates of cyclone-damaged old age home in Palghar
Inmates of a cyclone-damaged old age home in Palghar, one of them a woman who has taught Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and his cousin Raj, received prompt help from politicians and social organisations after their plight came to light.
The Thane-Palghar district unit of the Raj Thackeray- led MNS on Thursday said it will take responsibility to look after all the 29 residents of the old age home at Vasai, which has been extensively damaged in the recent cyclone Tauktae, till the structure is repaired.
