Man held from J-K after charas worth Rs 14.4 cr was seized in Mumbai
A man was arrested by Mumbai Crime Branch from Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with the seizure of 24 kilograms of high-quality charas worth Rs 14.4 crore in October last year, an official said on Sunday.
Gulzar Ahmed Khan (40) was held on Saturday after a probe found that he was the prime supplier in this case, he said, adding that the accused was also once arrested by the Worli unit of the Anti Narcotics Cell.
Mumbai Mayor visits Gateway of India, advises people to follow COVID appropriate behaviour
Amid COVID-19 restrictions, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar on Sunday morning visited Gateway of India and requested the visitors to follow COVID-appropriate behaviour, further asking them not to feel scared.
In a surprise visit to Gateway of India, Pednekar met with the people and said action will be taken against those who will not follow the guidelines.
"Strict restrictions, SOPs can be brought in and action will be taken against those not abiding by them. I request people to follow COVID-appropriate behaviour, and not feel scared," she said.
Maha CM condoles death of renowned singer-actor Ramdas Kamat
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday condoled the death of renowned singer-actor Pandit Ramdas Kamat and said he served Marathi musical theatre selflessly for over six decades.
Kamat excelled in all forms of music, be it light music, film or folk music and left an indelible mark, the CM said.
Kamat has left behind a rich legacy for the new generation to emulate, he said.
