NCB busts drug manufacturing unit in Nanded; three nabbed

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has busted a drug manufacturing unit in Kamtha area of Maharashtra's Nanded district and apprehended three persons in this connection, an official said on Tuesday.

Based on a tip-off, the NCB's Mumbai zonal unit on Monday raided three shops, where a drug manufacturing unit was being operated, the official said.

Hopeful of MSRTC workers strike ending soon: Raut after meeting Pawar

As the indefinite strike by Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) employees entered the 27th day on Tuesday, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut met NCP president Sharad Pawar and later expressed hope of a resolution to the agitation soon.

Talking to reporters here, Raut said he held discussion with Pawar on a range of issues, including politics and the ongoing MSRTC workers strike, which is not showing any signs of resolution.

The NCP is a key constituent of the Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.

Aurangabad civic body plans to reduce carbon emissions, set to get electric, retrofitted buses

Public transport buses and vehicles being used for official purposes by Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation and Aurangabad Municipal Corporation will shift to alternate fuel to reduce carbon emissions, civic chief Astik Kumar Pandey said on Tuesday.

Speaking at a sensitization-cum-review workshop in Mumbai, he said the civic body had also planned to increase the green cover of Aurangabad, which is spread over 172 square kilometres and has a population of around 20 lakh, from the current 4 per cent.
