Two foreign women, a mother-daughter duo, were arrested by customs officials with nearly 5 kg of heroin worth Rs 25 crore at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport here, an official said on Wednesday.
The contraband was concealed in the cavities of the trolley bags carried by the mother-daughter duo, who had travelled to the city on Sunday from Johannesburg via Doha in a Qatar Airlines flight, the official said.
The Maharashtra cabinet on Wednesday gave its approval to a proposal that seeks to make modifications in the ordinance order for reservation to the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the local bodies, after state Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari raised some query about it.
This decision was taken during the cabinet meeting, a statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said.
