Mumbai: The JK House museum was to have begun two years ago, with three-floors of the seafacing 36-storey building at Breach Candy. However this museum, which was to have artefacts from Singhania’s personal art collection, is yet not opened, according to the head of security.
The reporter who went on site was told by the head of security the museum will open soon, without any explanations regarding the exact date.
“The terms and conditions for the reception of the public will be given to the press. Only selective ‘crowd’ will be allowed, with only groups between 20 and 50 people. Interested people should buy the tickets beforehand. We will not allow the pedestrians who are walking randomly in the street,” added the head of security.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Commission has picked 16-18 floors of this sprawling sky scraper for the museum as part of its initiative to lift the city’s art and cultural spaces. six months ago, a delay was announced since the museum proposal was stuck with the building proposals department for some approvals. Looks like the delay has been longer. Considering the claims made of the museum would among the top museums of the world.
