Mumbai: Water, water everywhere but not a drop to drink, for many Mumbai wards on July 9 and 10. BMC will impose water cuts in some parts of the city for repair work which includes areas in H East, K East and G North wards that are likely to be affected.
BMC has conducted the repair work on the 1800 millimetre pipeline supplying water from Tansa and Upper Vaitarna lakes. The repair work will be conducted from 10am on July 9 and will continue till 12 noon on July 10.
BMC will be conducting water cuts in some areas to complete their repair work. The areas affected are in the vicinity of the domestic airport, MIDC trans residency, Subhash Nagar, Saariput Nagar, Vijay Nagar, Police camp, Marol Gaothan, Military Road, Bhavani Nagar, Chimatpada,
Sag Bagh, Makwana Road, Om Ngar, Sahar Village, Prakashwadi Govind wadi, Islampur, Parsiwada, Chakala, JB Nagar, Bamanwada, Kabir Nagar, Lele wadi, Technical Area, Tarun Bharat society and airport area in K east ward. In H East ward, areas near the Bandra Terminus will also be affected. In many areas, the water cuts will be enforced in the morning.
These include Dharavi main road, Ganesh Mandir road, A K G Nagar, Kumbharwada, Sant Gora Kumbhar road and Dilip Kadam marg in G North ward. On the other hand, water cuts in some areas will be implemented in the evening.
There will be water cuts on July 10 in Prem Nagar, Naik Nagar, 60 feet road, 90 feet road, Jasmine Mill road, Matunga Labour Camp, MG road and Dharavi loop road, in G North. BMC has appealed to the residents of these areas to use water sparingly. - Staff Reporter
