Mumbai: An interstate gang, which targeted youths by promising them jobs, was busted by Mumbai Police on Monday. Two members of the gang have been arrested, while others are on the run. The two arrested are Bhagirath Tyagi and Zakir Hussain. The gang has conned over 150 youths so far, police said.
The gang had a network spread across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh. They had set up a call centre from where they would ‘honeytrap’ job aspirants by getting a female to speak to them. They conducted interviews and got money from the youths, assuring them of tickets for jobs abroad, none of which ever materialised. Finally, one such duped job-seeker, complained to Pydhonie Police, after which police began investigations and arrested the duo.
