Mumbai: The Thane police arrested four persons in connection with black-marketing at a rationing shop.
According to the police,” About 266 tons of food grains worth Rs.63,60,700 were seized.”
According to Police Inspector Kishor Pasulkar, Wagle Estate police,” We had received a tip off that a that illegally food grains were being stored at a godown at Krishna compound in Bhiwandi and the people at the rationing shops were being deprived of the commodities distributed at these shops.”
According to the police,” The arrested accused have been identified as Raju alias Pradeep Motilal Agarwal(32), Shrinivas alias Mergu(35),Indrasen Kantaprasad Gaud( 38) and Firoz Ahmed Mustaq Ansari( 32).
The accused Pradeep Motilal Agarwal is a resident of sector number one at Nilamkunj in Nerul. Srinivas is a resident of Sarubhai compound in Bhiwandi. Indrasen is a resident of Bhiwandi and Firoz Ansari is a resident of Gulzar Nagar in Bhiwandi.
“The accused have been arrested by the Narpoli police station under Section 420( cheating) and Section 34(common intention) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3,7, 8 and 9 of the Bombay Rationing Area Schedule Commodities( Regulation and Distribution) and Section 4,5,6, 7 and 8 of Maharashtra Foodgrain Rationing Regulation, 1966.” said Pasulkar.
