Mumbai: Five BMC wards nominated for national Tuberculosis programme

Five municipal wards of the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) have been nominated by the state government for the Tuberculosis Free India-2025 programme. For the first time, the department of Tuberculosis control is giving incentive prizes to various urban municipal wards and rural districts working towards eradicating the disease.

The five municipal wards -Parel, Govandi, Ghatkopar, Grant Road and Prabhadevi- have been nominated for their dedicated efforts towards eradicating the disease. Overall 11 nominations have been made from Maharashtra, including the five municipal wards. BMC executive health officer Mangala Gomare has stated that door to door testing of TB will be carried out in these five wards.
