Mumbai: Fire breaks out at Amazon sort centre in Andheri

Mumbai: A fire broke out at a shopping centre in suburban Andheri (East) Tuesday evening, a fire brigade official said. There were no reports so far of anyone getting injured, he said, adding that efforts were on to douse the flames. The blaze started at shop number 14 at Amazon Sort Centre near Indian Bank, he said. The fire brigade control room got information about the fire at 5.10 pm, he said.

“There was a fire in a sort centre building in Mumbai on Tuesday which was quickly extinguished. Out of an abundance of caution, we have closed the building for now and moved operations to another building. We thank the Fire Department for their rapid response and in bringing the situation under control.” – Attributed to an Amazon India spokesperson.
