MUMBAI: The foot over bridges (FOBs) at Dadar (W) and Vasai Road railway stations have been closed for repairs since May 14. The Churchgate-end bridge at Dadar, between Platforms 1 and 4, is being closed for safety reasons. However, passengers may use the remaining four bridges, Western Railway has said.
On Vasai Road, the middle FOB between Platforms 6 and 7 towards the north-end will be closed to the public until May 29 for repairs. Commuters can avail of the alternative bridge for the duration of the repair.
After the Himalaya bridge collapse at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus on March 14, the Railways has taken up the task of repair and rebuilding of bridges on a war footing. WR has allocated Rs 100.87 crore for 42 new FOBs and the reconstruction of others.
