The MHB police have arrested two men for allegedly kidnapping a 6-year-old boy from outside his residence in Borivli (West). The accused also demanded a ransom of Rs 20,000 from the child’s mother.
According to Hindustan Times, the accused were identified as Sujitsingh Singh (39) and Akash Shivag (25). The duo kidnapped the boy from the neighbourhood in Eksar Koliwada on Sunday around 5.30 pm. Later, on the same day at around 8.30 pm, the boy’s mother received a ransom call and was asked to pay Rs 20,000 if she wanted her child back.
She later arranged the money and reached the location in Dahisar, given by the kidnappers. After reaching the spot, the kidnappers took the money and handed over the boy to their parents. The kidnappers fled from the spot and, while returning home, the boy’s parents went to MHB Colony police station and registered a complaint. After registering the complaint, the cops arrested the duo in four hours. During the interrogation, the duo claimed that they kidnapped the boy to get money to buy liquor.
