Mumbai Crime: Two men arrested for drugging and looting passengers

Two men hailing from were arrested by the Railway Protection Force for allegedly drugging and looting passengers from LTT. The duo at least looted 12 people b drugging them.

According to Mumbai Mirror, the accused were identified as Sanjay Patel (38) and Arvind Prasad (39). The duo used to befriend passengers, especially workers heading towards states in northern part of India. The duo after befriending the passengers would take them for tea and then offer the victims biscuits, which were spiked with a sedative. After the passenger was unconscious they would loot them.

After getting many complaints the RPF personnel scrutinised CCTV footages. On March 8, two constables were deployed at the LTT station, during which they saw the duo were trying to strike up conversations with passengers near the booking window. After which the constables approached the duo and asked them what they were doing, which they failed to give an answer to, the constables detained them. During questioning, they have confessed to their crimes, but police say there could be more such victims. The RPF officials have registered a  case against the duo under Sections 153, 145 and 147 of the Railway Act.
