The Gamdevi police arrested an event contractor for a south Mumbai club and his two accomplices for allegedly killing a labourer. The trio allegedly killed the labourer after he demanded more money after a wedding ceremony.
According to the Hindustan Time, the accused were identified as Ramesh Dubla alias Bobby (59), Amarjit Yadav (28) and Mohammed Sharif (25). The victim was identified as Babu, who is said to be in his mid-twenties. The cops have said that Dubla had hired Babu to help with the catering service he was providing for a wedding. Later, after the wedding, Dubla and Babu consumed alcohol. The two then hired Amarjit Yadav’s tempo to transport the catering material, but later, while Yadav was driving, Babu began asking Dubla for his payment.
Dubla told cops that he had paid Babu Rs 1,500, but he wanted more. But, when Dubla refused to pay more, Babu snatched his debit card, which enraged him. After this, Dubla picked up a hammer and, in a fit of rage, he hit Babu on his head. Later, he threw injured Babu out of the tempo along with Sharif. Dubla asked Yadav to speed away. The cops later found Babu with severe injuries near Babulnath Temple and was rushed to the hospital where he died on Monday. After getting in touch with the tempo’s owner, the cops located the trio and arrested them.
