Mumbai Crime: Businessman arrested for molesting 23-year-old woman who approached for a job

On Friday, police arrested a businessman for molesting a 23-year-old woman who approached for a job. The accused also tried to flee from the spot.

According to Mumbai Mirror, the accused was identified as Kalim Khan who runs a company named KK Heavy Lifters in South Mumbai’s Sewri. The 23-year-old woman, who is currently pursuing her last year in Bachelor of Engineering (BE), had recently gotten in touch with the accused as she was looking for a job after a recent burglary at her house. The woman was looking for a part-time job to help her run the house.

The incident took place on Friday when the accused had called the woman for an interview. A police officer from Yellow Gate police station told the leading that, “She told him that it was not possible at that hour since it was close to 3 pm and she was not very familiar with Sewri. So, he offered to meet her at Bhaucha Dhakka.”

After when they met, the accused insisted the woman sit in his car and told her that they will go to a cafe. But instead going to the cafe, the accused drove a little away and began making lewd gestures towards her and also offered her Rs 2000. After which the woman got angry and slapped him. The woman also raised an alarm and screamed for help, when by-passers gathered the accused started to flee from the car. But luckily patrolling cops saw the accused running and nabbed him. The cops have arrested Kalim Khan under section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the IPC.
