A 25-year-old man was arrested by police for allegedly stalking and kissing a woman outside Kanjurmarg railway station.
According to Mumbai Mirror, the accused has been identified as Wasim Shaikh, who is a resident of Powai. The incident took place on Sunday when the accused was following the victim while she was returning from her tuition in Vikhroli. While the victim was entering the station, the accused grabbed her hand and forcibly dragged her outside. Wasim then kissed the victim in full public view. The girl rushed home and narrated the entire incident to her parents, who then approached the police and registered a complaint.
Two stay in the same area and Wasim on several occasions had made unwanted advances towards the girl. The girl every time turned down the accused, but Wasim then to will follow her around. After the complaint was lodged, acting on the complaint the cops registered an FIR and launched an investigation in the matter. The cops have said that Wasim Shaikh works as a driver and is married and has a child. The cops arrested the accused from his house and have booked him under relevant sections for molestation and stalking of the Indian Penal Code.
