A 21-year-old man was arrested by the Aarey Police for allegedly targetting Gujarati girls on Facebook and sending them lewd messages and pornographic videos.
According to Mid-Day, the accused has been identified as Riyaz Alam, who originally is from Bhuj, Gujarat, but is currently a resident of Jogeshwari and works at a garments shop. The 21-year-old’s pervert’s acts came to light when a 21-year-old Gujarati girl living in Goregaon East lodged a complaint. The victim came across Alam on Facebook a couple of months ago, but it was only since the last couple of days that he had started sending her obscene messages.
During the investigation, cops checked the accused’s Facebook, during which it came to light that he would send friend requests to Gujarati women, and once they got familiar, he would send them pornographic material. After his arrest, the Aarey Police found out that a similar complaint has been lodged last month against Riyaz at the Jogeshwari police station.
The cops on Sunday arrested Riyaz under Sections 354A [sexual harassment] and 354D [stalking] of the IPC, and 67A [transmitting sexually explicit material] of the IT Act.
