A 20-year-old man is still waiting for justice, as the verdict on Section 377 in Supreme Court is still awaited. The man has filed a complaint in Goregaon police station against a 35-year-old man for sexually assaulting him.
According to Mumbai Mirror, 20-year-old Rajesh Kumar Nair has lodged a complaint against Subhash Shinde alias Aaba (35) for raping him on June 20. The victim in his complaint has said that the accused took him home on June 20 on the pretext of helping to get rid of the evil forces. The accused then allegedly raped him that night and again the next morning. Nair has also said that the accused has also allegedly threatened him of dire consequences ever since he got to know about the FIR.
But even after the FIR was lodged, Nair has alleged inaction by the police in the intervening weeks and, on Friday (July 20), he approached top police officials like Commissioner of Police, the Joint Commissioner (crime), and the Joint Commissioner (law and order). A police official told the leading daily that a case has been registered under Section 377, but police are waiting for the apex court’s verdict on the law.
