A case of molestation has been filed against a man and three of his sons by Bandra Police after a 16-year-old girl was allegedly touched in an objectionable manner. The accused is the girl’s uncle. The Bandra police have booked four people in this case but haven’t made any arrests yet.
According to DNA, the accused has been identified as Javed Sayyed (uncle) and his three sons Imran Sayyed, Mohammed Sayyed and Hussain Sayyed. The incident took place on October 29, when the girl took a tub of clothes to the terrace and climbed a ladder to hand the clothes. Later, her uncle (accused) came and held the ladder. The girl lost her balance and fell. In the pretext of helping her, he then touched her inappropriately. A relative of the victim told the leading daily, “On the next day, Imran, Mohammed, and Hussain approached the girl and molested her on finding an opportunity.”
The victim’s father and his six brothers live in the same locality in Bandra and get into frequent conflicts over property, says the report. Later, after the incident took place, both the parties — accused and victim’s family — have filed cross-complaints against each other in different police stations. The Bandra Police have registered a case under Section 354, 509 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 8 and 12 of Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences Act and are investigating the case.
